A Redesigned Mobile Chore Chart: Fast One-Thumb Check-Offs and Action Drawers

What & Why

Parents lead active, bustling households where daily routines happen on the go—often checking tasks on a phone with one hand while helping with homework or putting away groceries. Software built for the family needs to meet parents where they are, offering quick, responsive tools that celebrate progress and keep routines running smoothly.

With the Redesigned Mobile Chore Chart, Rezzyl introduces a mobile-first interface engineered for speed and clarity. Featuring an intuitive Two-Zone card layout, smooth bottom drawers for instructions, and in-place star rating tools, managing daily chores on your phone is now quick and dependable.

Key Capabilities

• Two-Zone Mobile Tap Targets:
  • Top Zone: Tapping the chore title or icon opens a smooth bottom sheet drawer containing formatted instructions, reward details, and actions.
  • Bottom Zone: Tapping the action pill toggles completion instantly between clear Todo and Done states.
• Thumb-Friendly Bottom Drawers: Replaces cramped popover menus with smooth bottom sheet drawers that feel native on iOS and Android.
• In-Place Star Rating Drawer: Guardians can review completed tasks and assign 1–5 star ratings directly from the chart without navigating to a separate screen, encouraging kids with immediate positive feedback.
• Chore-First Visual Hierarchy: The chore icon and title take center stage as the headline, with clean stacked member avatars and pinned reward chips designed to look balanced on small screens.

Real-World Scenarios

• Quick Morning Check-Off: Tap the bottom action pill while walking through the kitchen to mark morning pet feeding as Done in less than a second.
• Reviewing Instructions on Mobile: Tap the top card zone to pull up the bottom drawer and verify dishwasher loading steps with your child.
• Encouraging Daily Effort: Review completed bedroom cleanups in the evening, tap Rate, and award 5 stars directly inside the bottom drawer to celebrate a job well done.

Improvements & Fixes

Improvements

• 40-Character Name Safety: Optimized flexible layout containers so long household member names wrap gracefully without pushing action buttons off-screen.
• Touch Target Accessibility: Enforced WCAG 2.2 compliant touch boundaries (minimum 44×44px hit targets) across all chart cards and dialog triggers.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the actions dropdown would clip off-screen on narrow mobile screens (320px–360px).
